Eli has had a great first Christmas so far, with a full day ahead of us tomorrow!!! We thought we'd share some pics of our day.

I have to leave for 4 days next week and I hope I can keep my sanity. Being away from home has never been an issue until Eli. I feel closer to Amber than ever before and hate to leave her and my son. I know I will survive, but this will be one of the toughest weeks ever. Eli is so alert and active now, I don't want to miss a thing.

Turkey day is upon us and we get to take Eli out for some family time. I can't wait to eat my fill and spend some time relaxing with our fam. Of course, Eli is the focus of the whole thing now, but I think that's quite alright.

Man, I've got to get better at writing on this thing:)

We had our first Halloween experience tonight and it was a blast!!! Eli looked awesome and cuter than ever. Of course I ate his candy, but that is the kind of sacrifice I'm willing to make as his father.

Yesterday I spent the day with Eli. Amber went to that testament to future Goodwill finds, the "Covered Bridge Festival." Our day began with the usual feeding, diaper changing, and various conversations concerning the nature of moisture created inside the closed environment of a diaper. Then we went to the Public Library for a little showing off how cute we looked together, and to rent a movie I needed for an InterVarsity project. I must say I was quite pleased that I had no problems during my first solo attempt with the young lad. I hope there will be many more to come.

Wow, it has been quite awhile since I last posted to my blog!!!!
Much has changed in the life of the Berry's, especially with the addition of Eli in our lives. He is a blessing from above and I can't imagine life without this little guy in it. I am amazed at the amount of love I can have for another person, other than my wife of course:)

It's Sunday morning, I'm up early, Amber is asleep, and the cat is laying next to me. I've been in prayer for peace this morning. Peace from the growing tension that comes with unknowing anticipation of our child being born. Peace from the thoughts that I will never become funded, and have to get a job I don't feel called to do. Peace from the brain numbing desire to fit-in with society, and to finally discover where those thoughts originate from and kill it. Lord, grant me peace.

We took some pictures of Amber's beautiful, pregnant body at her uncle's studio. I did such a good job, I had to sign an intellectual property form, stating I was the photographer:) Here is one of my favorites.

Yesterday morning, I spent some time praying and reading before Amber got up, and was left in awe of God. I have always been the cynical type and a questioner of everything, especially my faith. God has used this "flaw/blessing" of mine many times over the years, and continues my growth and understanding each day. In the last year, I have grown more in love with scripture than I ever thought possible, thanks to a great pastor, read more books that have left me speechless and brain numb, and seen the love of Christ change students and friends hearts through all kinds of circumstances. Envisioning the love God has for me and the desire of his heart to know me, brings me to tears. My hope is to open others to this journey I've been on, and in the words of Rob Bell, get them jumping on the tramp-o-leen of faith, even though they may not understand a few springs yet.

I spoke to Cody today, and he had a great time in Honduras working at Faith Home Orphange. I wish I could have joined them, but the coming of Eli took precedent. Amber and I miss them both since they moved to West Virginia, but we know when God calls, you answer.

Today during my quiet time, I was overwhelmed with a sense of joy. My nephew Chad is doing terrific and has two parents that love him dearly, making him one of the luckiest kids around. Amber is getting more and more beautiful as the days go by in both our marriage and our journey into parenting. God has blessed me more than I deserve, and my only hope is to bring Glory to his name.

Baby Chad is doing awesome, after a little scare and some time at St. Mary's Hospital for a Step B infection. He's perfect and just letting the medicine do it's job. We hope to see him at his house Saturday.
